2019, December 6th: ROMEO Brunch

Dick and BrentWell, it was a coolish day in Scottsdale on the patio of the General Store as six hardy souls gathered for a meal and conversation.  It was great to see Dick and to hear about he and Sandy’s journey from the Northern state of Michigan in early November.  Everything has been going well and Sandy was at home in DC ranch organizing their garage.  Dick was worried that Sandy would hide his new hedge trimmer....obviously she is concerned about his trimming technique.  All is well with the Davis family and he indicated that they had a great summer but a wet spring.....that probably helped in his garden cultivations.  Stan Petersen indicated that he and Deone just completed a purchase of a 23 foot RV.  Deone retired in May and Stan will hang up his Golf Ranger hat on December 12th which will free them up to cross this big country to measure the pulse of the people.  On February 29th they will be venturing to Kauai Hawaii for the destination wedding of Deone’s son Chris.  Pretty exciting start to 2020.  Tom Nielsen was describing he and Marks adventure to see the Polar Bears outside of Winnipeg in Churchill.  They were part of a group of 21 for 6 days experiencing subzero temperatures and wandering around in a special vehicle that holds 42 and roams on huge five foot or so tires for 8 hours per day.  Slow moving, but extremely comfortable with all the amenities needed for the adventure.  Pretty spectacular!  Ron Grove deviated from his standard menu selection of a tuna melt and wished he hadn’t.  However, the man always makes the best of everything and feasted on the french fries.  He and Liz’s house is still on the market and has had some activity, but the action will definitely pick up after Christmas and the New Year.  Brent and Carol Keil are growing more and more enamored with Gilbert.  They love the community and the people and enjoy all the food offerings in their new area.  Brent looked great, but it seems Carol is the individual achieving benefits from her new healthy lifestyle by losing 30 pounds.  Wow!  They are both still mulling over future home considerations, but are not in any hurry to jump in one direction or another.  I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is staying away from all the flu like bugs out there.  Have a great weekend.  Gerry
