2009 June 23: Marion Hinds

Marion D. Hinds Blaney Muchemore, 80, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Durgin Pines, Kittery, Maine.


She was born May 29, 1929, in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of the late George Clayton Hinds and Edna Pauline Wormell Hinds of Eliot, Maine.


Ms. Muchemore recently retired from the Woodbury Ave. Rite Aid, formerly Brooks Drug Store and Osco Drug #973, where she received her 20-year service pin. Previously, she worked at Dan's Star Market in Kittery.


Marion will be remembered as the "coupon" lady at Osco, Brooks and Rite Aid drug stores, for her wonderful smile and her dedication to her job and her family, for her volunteering at the former Homestead Nursing Home during the time that her mother was there, her green thumb and many, many houseplants, her collection of Shirley Temple dolls, and for her many different pins and earrings that she wore for all occasions.


Ms. Muchemore is survived by her two daughters, Donna L. Tolson and husband Charles of Fredericksburg, and Terri E. McColgan and husband Robert of Kittery; six grandchildren, Christopher Shea and wife Jenni of King George County, Kimberly Keyser and husband Charlie of King George, Kelly Daub and husband Terry of Spotsylvania County, Chad Shaw and wife Tara of Milton, N.H.; Tom Shaw and wife Beth of Somersworth, N.H., and Mathew Shaw of Kittery; 13 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Betty Simpson and Helen Timmons of Shapleigh, Maine, and Barefoot Bay, Fla.; brothers, Clayton Hinds and wife Irva, and Ronald Hinds and wife Charlotte, both of Eliot, Maine; aunts, Lillian Wormell of Bangor, Maine, and Kaye Wormell of St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada; a former husband and lifelong friend, Rodney Blaney of Kittery Point, Maine; and many loving nieces and nephews.


A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 25, and the funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 26, at J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery. Visit jspelkeyfuneral home.com for online condolences.
