We are saddened to learn of the passing of Richard Zeitz, 69, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at his residence in Batavia, Illinois.
He was born January 30, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois and was the son of Lawrence and Mildred (nee Nemoede) Zeitz. He was married to Barbara Kuffel from 1965 until 1997.
Richard was a 1959 graduate of Amundsen High School in Chicago. He continued his education at Northern Illinois University completing his masters in business administration. Richard served in the U.S. Army from November 6, 1961, until his honorable discharge October 27, 1964. He was employed by Osco Drug, Inc., American Drug Stores and later Jewel Osco as a market research analyst. Richard retired in 1999 after 31 years of service with the company.
He is survived by his six sons, Matthew, Adam (Leticia), David (Kristi), Benjamin (Jennifer), Gregory (Brandi), and Alexander; seven grandchildren, Chase, Abriya, Mariyah, Adrianna, Amilia, Samantha and Pressli; a brother, Al (fiancée Susan) Zeitz; a sister, Evelyn Rubey Klennert; his significant other, Maryann Atkins; and his nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Rock), Wendy (Matt), and Mark (Natalie).
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his two sons, Mark and Joshua, who died at infancy.
