We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Sally Buron, wife of member Ed Buron. Sally and Ed were married for 54 years. Sally is the loving mother of Laurie (James) Schaeffer, Linda (Randy) Cotter, Kevin (Michelle) Buron, Larry (Elizabeth Jones) Buron, Janice (Larry) Osmek, Juliann Buron (Paul Larsen), Dan (Christine) Buron and the late Karen Buron; devoted grandmother of 12; dear sister of Jack (Beverly) Mangan and Jim (late Linda) Mangan. Sally dedicated her life to the service of others by volunteering her time and talent. She received her AAS Degree in Human Services from the College of DuPage in 1984. Sally was an advocate for people with disabilities and volunteered at several local organizations, such as, the Crisis Hot Line, Hinsdale Hospital, classroom volunteer for L.D. students, Sharing Connection in Downers Grove, as an advisor to the parents of handicapped children, President of Special Education PTA, an Officer for Friends of Retarded and she received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Ray Graham Association. Sally also served on the Board of South Middlesex Association for Retarded Citizens and was a member of the Massachusetts Advisory Board, Chapt. 766, assisting in the implementation of legislation for special needs children. Sally retired in 2002 from the Little Friends School in Naperville, after 18 years of service as a Special Education Teacher. She spent the past 10 years as a volunteer for the Walk-In Ministry of Hope as a counselor/coach for people dealing with unemployment and related issues.
