Roberta J. Kohlbauer, 76, of Freeport, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012 at her home.
She was born on January 23, 1936 to Robert and Magdalen (Brown) Lamm in Freeport. She was a 1953 graduate of Aquin High School. She married Jack Kohlbauer at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on April 16, 1955. She was a retired employee of Osco Drug. Roberta was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was a charter and lifetime member of Antique engine Club and served as queen of the Threshing Show. She was involved in adoration at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was a member of the ABWA, volunteered at the VOICES Book Nook, loved to travel, and loved going to her grandchildren’s activities. She is survived by her children: Sharon (Kevin) Lipp, David (Debra) Kohlbauer, and Ronald (Julie) Kohlbauer; grandchildren: Jarid, Nicole, and Abby Lipp, Travis Kohlbauer, and Elise, Emily, and Erin Kohlbauer; many nieces and nephews; sister: Dolores (William) Wienand; sister-in-law: Mary Ellen Kohlbauer; stepmother: Mary (Brown) Lamm; step-brothers and sisters: John (Teresa) Brown, Cathy (Tony) Ayala, Samuel (Diane) Brown, Marjorie (Mike) Otte, and Patricia (Gary) Stephens. She was preceded in death by her husband John “Jack” Kohlbauer on December 9, 1998; her parents; mother and father-in-law: Jeremiah and Margaret Kohlbauer; and two brother-in-laws: Thomas and Jeremiah Kohlbauer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Friends may call after 9:30 am until the time of service at the church. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A Scripture Service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 3:30 pm at Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd., with visitation to follow from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A memorial has been established in her memory.
