Ann E.G. Cox, 73, of Hyannis, passed away at her home on June 4, 2012.
Ms. Cox was born to her parents, Almon and Angeline Cox of Hyannis, and was raised in her family home where she continued to live out her 73 years. She was a 1957 graduate of Barnstable High School.
Ms. Cox was employed in sales and the restaurant business for many years. She was known by all for her years working at Kings Department Store and Osco Drug of Hyannis.
She will be remembered for her kind heart and the love that she gave to all she met. She was a devoted sports fan and animal lover. She was a true Cape Codder who loved the ocean, the boats and all her friends and family.
Ms. Cox is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Beth Hardtner of Sand Springs, OK; a sister, Audrey V. George and her husband William T. George of Florida; two nieces, Tracy C. George and Laurie E. Komorowski; two nephews, William D. George and Joel D. George; 10 great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-niece.
She also leaves behind her Blackburn family on Cape Cod, Richard, Patti, Ricky and Christopher (Godson) Blackburn of Centerville, Laurie, Jason, Cassidy and Katie Cox of Hyannis, Robert (Godson), Jennifer, Rachel and Anna Blackburn of Mashpee, and Hiram and Elizabeth Collado of Marstons Mills.
A service to celebrate her life was held in the First Baptist Church of Hyannis, with burial in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit, where she will be laid to rest with her Blackburn family.
Donations in her memory may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hyannis or any Animal Rescue of one's choice.
