2012 September 14: Julia Schell

Julia E. Schell, 80, of Bedford passed away September 14, 2012 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack following a brief illness. Born and raised in Smoke Hole, WV, she was the daughter of Warnie and Mable (Kimble) Alt.

In 1953 she married Olin Schell and she traveled with him as he pursued his military career. She has resided in Bedford since 1981. Olin passed away in March 2000.

Julia had been employed as a pharmacy technician by CVS and previously by Osco Drug. Above all else, she was devoted to her family and her home.

She is survived by two daughters, Dottie Schell of Goffstown, Debra Schell and her husband Richared also of Goffstown; a son, Darrell Schell of Canton GA; two grandchildren, Joshua Schell and Josiah Schell, both of Canton GA; five sisters, Juanita Kesner, Virginia Davis, Zella Stepp, Annabelle Kuykendall and Arlene Botkin; three brothers Edward Alt, Herman Alt and Buddy Alt; numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were held at the Basagic Funeral Home, Jct. Rtes. 42 & 28, Petersburg WV on Wednesday from 9 AM to 11 AM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11 AM. Burial was in the Lahmansville Cemetery in Lahmansville WV.
