Dale Lionel Sharp was born on November 14, 1957, in Starkville, Mississippi to Jim and Mandy Sharp. He was the thirteenth child of fourteen children.
Dale accepted Christ at an early age at Bell Chapel Church in Starville. He graduated from Starville High School in 1976 and attended East Mississippi Junior College on a basketball scholarship. At East Mississippi, he would major in Physical Education and receive his associate’s degree.
Dale moved to Maywood, Illinois in May of 1977. He was employed with Lindberg Learning and Treating in Melrose Park. He retired from Osco Drug Distribution in Elk Grove Village.
Dale had a kind and giving spirit. He loved and enjoyed helping others, but more than anything Dale loved his family.
Dale was called home to glory with his family by his side on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Dale was proceeded in death by his sister, Pauline Randle; father Jim; and brothers John, Joe, Bobby, Willie Pearl and Billie Wayne Sharp.
Dale leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Mandy Sharp; five sisters, Pearl Hankerson, Ida (Otis) Hamilton, Luella (L.B.) Blakely, Flora (Eddie Wayne) Neely and Mechelle (Joe) Brown; two brothers, Stewart (Dorothy) Sharp and Jimmy Sharp, as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
