Ione I. Hayter, 88, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 7, 2014, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan with Rev. Terry Kern, officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 9:00 AM until the time of service at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Ione was born July 21, 1926, on the family farm near Leith, North Dakota, to Gust and Hilda (Schurr) Hafner. She was raised and educated in Leith, North Dakota, and graduated from Carson High School. On February 14, 1955, she married Wilmar Hayter in El Paso, Texas. They moved to Bismarck in 1957, where she worked for Ressler Café and Osco Drug on 4th Street. She was primarily a home maker, taking care of the household and raising their children.
Ione loved to read and share the word of God. She was delighted to be with her friends at coffee and was a great hostess for all occasions.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wilmar; one daughter, Joy Moos, Bismarck; two sons, Rick (Debbie) Moos, Grand Prairie, Texas, and Terry Hayter, Bismarck; seven grandchildren, Susan (Todd), Lonna (Rob), Nichol, Paul (Jessie), David, Danny, and Josh; five great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Samantha, Isabel, Sydney, and Kamden; and two sisters, Margy Horst, and Della Broadhead.
Ione was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arnold Hafner; sister, Loretta Leno; and two brothers-in-law, Leneth Broadhead, and Reinhold Horst.
