2014 November 6: Ted Lorentzen

Long time alumni club member Ted Lorentzen passed away peacefully on November 6, 2014 at his home in Henderson, NV after a two and a half year battle with cancer.

Ted began his career with Jewel when he was 16 and continued working as a part time employee until he enlisted in the Navy. He spent most of his four year stint on the Aircraft Carrier, USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. After completion of service, Ted returned to Jewel as a store auditor. In 1972 he joined the Osco Loss Prevention team's auditing department and was later promoted to audit manager where he served until his retirement in 1991.

A service was held in Las Vegas on November 15. Ted was cremated and his ashes will be buried in Illinois at a later date. Ted’s wife of 22 years, Donna, was very strong and courageous during Ted's battle with cancer. Our thoughts are with Donna and her family at this difficult time. Although his battle with cancer was a difficult one, Ted maintained a positive and productive life to the end. Ted will always be remembered for the positive influence he had over all those he touched.
