Leo Milton “Red” St. Clair, 87, passed away on August 26, 2015 in Helena, MT. He was born October 9, 1927 in Polplar, MT to Alton Leo St. Clair and Helena Caroline Damson St. Clair.
He married Elma Pickett December 19, 1947 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Elma passed away March 17, 2000. Together they had four children: Bob, Don, Kevin, and Wendy.
Leo served in the U.S. Army in 1946-1947 and was honorably discharged August 1947. He worked 16 years for Asarco and retired with 25+ years at School District #9 as maintenance supervision. He and Elma retired to the family lake property in late 1986 and enjoyed many years of gardening, fishing, and relaxing.
Leo is preceded in death by his wife Elma; his parents, Alton and Helena St. Clair; his brothers Kenneth “KR” and Floyd; his sisters Leona, Evelyn, and Leola; his son Bob; and his daughter-in-law Brenda St. Clair.
Leo is survived by two sons, Don (Dundee) and Kevin; his daughter Wendy (Phil) Dolan; daughter-in-law Terry St. Clair and her family; his six grandchildren, Julie (Cliff) Abraham, Tad (Stacie) and Randy (Melissa) St. Clair, Beth Skeel, and Philesha and Kyleen Dolan; three great grandchildren, Ryan and Hallie Abraham, and Cooper Leo St. Clair. Leo is also survived by his brother Bob “St” (Betty) St. Clair, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend Su DeBree who added many years to his life and life to his years.
Special thanks to all of those who helped Leo, especially Jamie Van Horssen and staff, Frontier Hospice, Cooney Apple Rehab, and Osco pharmacy. Also, thanks to all family and friends who stuck it out while Leo was stubborn.
Cremation has taken place and he will be interned with Elma at a later date in the East Helena Cemetery.
