Wayne Eugene Davis, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Aug. 7, at Western Home Communities Windhaven.
He was born Sept. 28, 1932, in Packwood, son of Lewis A. and Bessie A. (Davis) Davis. He married Nancy Joan Earley on Sept. 6, 1953, in Fairfield.
Wayne graduated from Fairfield High School in 1951. He attended Iowa State University for two years and graduated from University of Iowa with a bachelor of science degree in commerce in 1958. Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He worked as a district manager for Osco Drug for 35 years and retired in 1993. Wayne was a charter member of the Osco Alumni Club and was among the first to join when the club was founded in 1993.
Survived by: his wife; a son, Mike of Marshalltown; two daughters, Tina (Greg) Drinkut of Palm Bay, Fla., and Tam Davis of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Doris Roland and Geneva (Rodger) McWhirter, both of Burlington, Mary Chapuis of Cedar Rapids and Barbara Taylor of Fairfield.
Preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Dale Davis; and two sisters, Juanita Schafer and Bernice Durfey.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, both in Fairfield. Visitation for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
