Betty Anne Belk, 71 of Holden, Missouri, formerly of Raytown, died Monday, Feb. 9, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with Lt. Col. Mark Crumpton officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
Betty was born on June 2, 1943, in Ft. Scott, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Lena M. (Carl) Zook. At a young age, she moved with her family to Raytown where she graduated from Raytown High in 1961. She married right out of high school and had five children. She was involved in many activities with her children. She was room mother, and she was involved with the PTA. She was also campfire leader at one time. She sold Avon for several years and was a member of the Blue Ridge Methodist Church. She married Dale A. Belk on May 27, 1983, in Raytown. Betty was employed with Osco Drugs in Raytown until she retired in 2000. She moved to Holden 2011. She was a member of the Holden First United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Senior Center for a short time.
Survivors include her daughter Kathie Shinn and husband, Daran, of Holden; three sons, Christopher Lovick, of Kingsville, Missouri; Drew Lovick and wife, Ludis, of Panama; Jeff Burhman and wife, Wendy, of West Palm Beach, Florida; son-in-law, Mark Crumpton, of Georgia; brother, Robert Zook, and wife of Kansas City, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and her treasured dogs, Lulu and Shadow. She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Dale, in December 2009; both parents; her brother, Patric Zook; son, Michael Lovick; and daughter, Deborah Crumpton.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Johnson County Cancer Foundation in care of the funeral chapel.
