Grace “Adeline” (Hill) Fincham, 95, formerly of McCallsburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Ill.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at McCallsburg Presbyterian Church in McCallsburg. Funeral services will follow the visitation and will begin at 10 a.m. at the church with Pastor Tom Poppe officiating. Burial will follow in Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg.
Adeline was born on July 23, 1919, in Dunbar, to Albert and Minnie (Hagerland) Hill. She was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church. In 1938, she graduated from McCallsburg High School. On Oct. 22, 1938, she married George Marquis, of Marshalltown. In 1941, they moved to Summit, Ill., and later to Joliet, Ill. Three children were born to this union. In 1957, she married Jim Biggs, and he passed away suddenly in 1960. Adeline worked for Osco Drug as a cosmetician for several years in Joliet, Freeport and Rockford, Ill. On July 15, 1967, she married Owen Fincham, of McCallsburg, where they lived for 33 years. Owen passed away on March 24, 2000. She moved to Story City in 2001. Adeline was a member of McCallsburg Presbyterian Church. She was ordained as an elder and served one term as a trustee of McCallsburg Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Sons of Norway.
She loved word games, cooking, fishing, search of word, rummi cube and her Bible.
Adeline is survived by her son George Marquis, of East Peoria, Ill.; daughter Adrienne Houdeshell, of Rockford, Ill.; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter; sister Helen Zook, of Story City; sister-in-law Marcella Hill, of Story City; several nieces and nephews; two step-daughters, Marilyn (Dean) Hill, of McCallsburg, and Sandra (Mike) Harris, of Granger; 10 step-grandchildren, 14 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband George Marquis, second husband Jim Biggs, third husband Owen Fincham; daughter Joanne Marquis; two brothers, Jordan and Myron Hill; son-in-law Richard Houdeshell; brother-in-law Lee Zook; two nephews, Barry and Gary Zook; one niece Claudia Anderson and her daughter Cami; and one step-daughter Marlene Twedt.

Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing has been entrusted with the care of Adeline and her family.
