Bernadette R. Claffey, 79, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in the Elkhart Hospice.
Bernadette was born February 22, 1936 in South Bend to the late Clare and Alice (Seifert) Robinett. On October 12, 1957, in South Bend, Bernadette married Donald Claffey and he preceded her in death on May 30, 1991.
Bernadette is survived by daughters, Rhea Luczkowski, and Anne Varner; son, Mark Claffey; sister, Annette (William) Christlieb; brother, Jon Robinett; grandchildren, Cory (Minna) Kerchner, Crystal Luczkowski, Jennifer Claffey, Gregory Claffey, Shawn Ceasar and Ashley Varner; and many nieces and nephews.
Bernadette retired from Osco Drugs. She was a member of the Ladies Blue Sox Women's Professional Baseball team, was an avid reader, enjoyed golfing, going to the casino with Jon, Bingo, gardening and flowers. She was a diehard Chicago Bears and Notre Dame Women’s basketball fan, was a cat-lover and enjoyed spending time with family.
Visitation will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Monday, May 11, 2015 in Holy Family Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
