Betty Ouse was born January 15th, 1945 in Williston, North Dakota to Albert and Beulah Sundby, Betty was raised on the family farm in Hebron Township until her family moved to Williston during grade school.
She graduated from Williston High School in 1963.
After graduation, Betty followed her dream to move to California where she worked at Sav-On Drug Store and then later for Farmers Insurance.
Betty was united in marriage on May 20th, 1972 to career naval man Wilbur G. Ouse at First Lutheran Church in Williston, ND.
They resided in Southern California before moving to Washington State where they built a life together and raised their two daughters.
Betty was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church where she tirelessly volunteered with the youth program and coordinated the annual Back to School Supply Drive.
A faithful follower of Christ, Betty had a servant’s heart and could be counted on by her many friends to lend a hand, especially if that meant a trip to the casino.
She enjoyed playing cards and could be found most days enjoying a game or two with various groups and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband Wilbur of 30 years, Betty also joins her parents Albert and Beulah, and her brother Alton Sundby.
She is survived by her children, Heather Gaston of McKinney, TX; Enola Zemanek and her husband Jason of Kent, WA; her grandson Nathan Gaston of Oklahoma City, OK and her loving sisters Donna Folven of Saugus, CA and Cindy Iverson of Montgomery, TX.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church; 218 E. Crawford, Deer Park, WA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for any memorials to be made in Betty’s name to either Zion Lutheran Church’s Youth Program or the American Diabetes Association.
