MaryAnn Hoffman age 87, formerly of Stevens Point, went to heaven to be with her husband, David, Monday April 4, 2016 at Whispering Pines Assisted Living in Plover where she has been residing the past 4 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial for MaryAnn will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday April 7, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph V will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services Thursday in the St. Faustina Room of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. A Rosary led by the St. Peters Ladies Rosary Society, of which MaryAnn was a longtime member, will be prayed at 10:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery.
MaryAnn was born December 29, 1928 in Stevens Point, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Pogorzelski) Stachowiak. She graduated from St Peter's and P.J. Jacobs High School. MaryAnn married the love of her life, David J. Hoffman on February 26, 1949 at St. Peters Catholic Church. The couple settled in Stevens Point and raised their family. She worked as a clerk for Gwidt's Drug Store, Osco Drug, and Spurgeon's before retirement. MaryAnn enjoyed crocheting, fishing, and puzzles.
She is survived by her 3 children: Edward (Mary) Hoffman, Phoenix; Patty (Tom) Orlikowski, Stevens Point; Diane Millsap, Fort Worth, TX. 11 grandchildren: Beth, Tricia, Tracey, Dawn, Amanda, Kristin, Kendra, Brandon, Lisa, Renee, Jennifer; 17 great grandchildren; her son-in-law Jim Kenowski, Amherst, WI; and her best friend Ernestine "Ernie". She was preceded in death by parents, her husband David in 2006, her daughter Judy, her son-in-law Mark Millsap, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
MaryAnn's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Heartland Hospice and the staff at Whispering Pines for the attentive, loving care that MaryAnn received.
