Maureen J. Monahan, 52, died at home Sunday, June 12, of cardiac arrest.
She was born March 8, 1964, in Waterloo, daughter of Edward and Lavern Jirak Monahan. She married Bryan Hunt on Sept. 16, 1994, in Waterloo. They were later divorced.
Maureen graduated from Columbus High School in 1982. She was employed with Osco Drug Store, was an appraiser for Black Hawk County and later was an inspector for Cedar Falls Fire and Rescue until disability.
Survived by: two sons, Killian and Alex Hunt, both of Cedar Falls; her mother of Waterloo; a brother, Mark (Dr. Bobbie Jo) Monahan of Terre Haute, Ind.; three sisters, Melissa (James) Schreiber of Marion, Mary Monahan of Cedar Falls and Molly (Richard) Spence of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: her father.
Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 20, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, with inurnment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, June 19, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation will continue at the church for an hour before services on Monday.
