2016 March 9: Stephen Serio

Stephen Serio of North Aurora, IL, passed away suddenly at the age of 61, on March 9th.

Beloved husband of Diane (nee Sobkowiak), loving father of Brian, cherished son of Concetta "Connie", and the late Salvatore. Steve was the dear son-in-law of Lottie and the late Richard Sobkowiak Sr., fond brother-in-law of Carol (Robert) Karnik, Jannett (Robert) Safiover, Richard Jr. (Jamie Marshall), Joan (Peter) Stramaglia, fond uncle to Jeff Karnik, and survived by many cousins.

Born and raised in Chicago, Steve graduated from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy in 1982. After receiving his degree, Steve worked for Eagle Pharmacy, Perry Drugs, and for the past 23 years at Osco Pharmacy in Elk Grove Village. He considered his pharmacy customers and staff friends and cared deeply about their lives, and he was always there to listen and advise. Steve was a long suffering, diehard fan of the Chicago Bears, loved to bake, try new recipes, was an avid reader, and enjoyed vacation trips at sea as long as someone captained the cruise ship.

Steve will be remembered for his kindness and "bigger than life" personality. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and all he touched by a life well lived.
