Austin V. Stanton, Sr., 86, formerly of Des Plaines, Illinois, passed away at home in Watervliet, Michigan, November 22, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean; his children, Austin, Jr. (Jill), Sherri, Wendy, Scott, Christy (Kurt) Schmidt, and Corey; his grandchildren Danielle, Kate, Brina, Cassidy, Ryan, Ashley, Jordan, Colleen, Jamie, Cheyenne, Symphony, Erin, and Corey, Jr.; and his great-grandchildren Trenton, Scarlett, Weston and Zoey. He was born in Chicago and served as a pilot in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. Memorial Gathering will be Saturday, December 3 from 3:00 p.m. until time of Service at 4:00 p.m. at Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 E. Thacker St., Des Plaines.
