2021 May 27th: David Lewis


David Lewis of Carmel, Indiana, loving husband, and father of one child, passed away at age 76.


David was born on November 24, 1944, in Union City, Indiana to the late Reed and Reba (White) Lewis. After graduating high school, David attended Ball State University and was drafted into

the military. He was part of the Navy Advisory Group with various assigned duties with sensitive information that required a high level of clearance. David received the Navy Achievement Medal

from the Secretary of the Navy for his service.


After military service he began his career with Osco Drug as a Management Trainee. After several moves and promotions in Indiana, he was assigned to the position of Market Manager in

Indianapolis and worked in the Indy area until retirement after 37 years of service.


David married Charlene Nicholas, who survives. They raised their son, David in the Carmel area and lived in their home together for nearly 40 years.

David was smart and funny and enjoyed traveling with Charlene and spending time with family and his favorite dog, Storm. He loved sports, history, music, and taking care of his home and family.

He was a good son, brother, uncle, and father who had many friends that he met throughout his life.


David was preceded in death by his sister, Deanna, and nephew, Mike. He is survived by his wife, Charlene; son, David (wife Jody); sister, Susie; nephew, Brian (wife Shannon); niece, Stephanie;

and several cousins.

Funeral services are private and entrusted to Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel.
