Katherine (Murphy) Griffin of Somerville passed away peacefully on March 8, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Born October 16, 1935, she was the devoted daughter to the late Julia and William Murphy, and sister to the late Daniel Murphy and Mary Murphy. She spent most of her life in Somerville where she and her husband, the late Thomas Griffin, had eight children: Kathy Connolly and her partner, Joe Connolly; Terry Lordan; Breeda Griffin (deceased); Patsy Franklin; Jerry Griffin (deceased); Julia Paris and her partner, Jerry Paris; Jackie Piracini and her partner, Tom Piracini; and Mary Meade and her partner, Ed Meade. She had 14 grandchildren: Katy Lordan and her partner Josh Sag; Sarah Connolly and her partner Matt Mellor; Elizabeth Connolly and her partner, Tom McAnulty; Bridget Lucas and her partner Scott Lucas; Joe Connolly and his partner Margaret Connolly; Jerry Paris and his partner Courtney Kiernan; Thomas Paris; Abigail Meade; Edward Meade; Emily Meade and her partner, Dustin Richards; Katherine Franklin; Mark Franklin; Jack Narron and his partner, Lindsey Narron; Campbell Narron and his partner, Ashley Narron; Arin Piracini and his partner, Trevor Gravley; and Hannah Piracini. She also had 7 great-grandchildren: Robert Garnett, Thomas Zajac, Jesse Sag, Joey Connolly, Simone Connolly, the late Emma Paris, Liana Paris, Fiona Connolly, and Jacob Lucas. She was proud of her family, and they were her greatest joy. Her family was blessed to have such a devoted, selfless, kind, and generous woman in their lives who never lost sight of what truly matters. They will miss her dearly.
A Funeral Home service will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) on Saturday March 19th at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11 AM.
