2023 March 22nd: Barbra Nunziato

Barbra Ann Nunziato, 72, long-time resident of Westchester, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2023 surrounded by her friends and family following a sudden battle with cancer.

Preceded in death by her parents, Americo “Twiggs” and Angela (nee Fidanza). Fond sister to Anthony Nunziato of Arizona. Loving cousin, adored godmother, cherished aunt and devoted friend to more people than we are able to count.

Barbra made everyone she met feel comfortable, included, and valued. Even those who knew her for a short time became a precious part of her life and were treated like family. Her unique ability to connect with all types of people was exceptional, and very genuine. She was selfless and put others’ needs before her own. Her generosity was unwavering and knew no limits. Her generosity defined her.

She loved to entertain and felt no greater joy than when she had the opportunity to host loved ones. Her home cooked meals were always a favorite and she never let anyone leave without graciously offering them leftovers. Her door was always open, welcoming her friends and family to enjoy a few laughs and conversation at the kitchen table.

Barbra was devoted to her faith and serving others, both in her daily life and through her role as devoted parishioner at Divine Infant where she attended elementary school and later taught religious education classes. She volunteered for many organizations including the Easter Seals Fashion Show and WTTW Channel 11 Phone-a-thons. Barbra was also proud of her roots and celebrated her heritage as a member of the JCCIA- Italian Club. When she wasn’t volunteering or spending time with those she loved, she worked for Jewel-Osco Corporate for 45 years. Barbra was a kind and compassionate spirit. She will be forever remembered.
