Kevin J. Mazzuca, 70, passed away on February 2, 2024 in Winfield Illinois. Kevin was born in 1953 in Chicago, IL to Quintino and Mary Mazzuca He graduated from Glenbard North High School in 1971
In August 1974, he was married to Gayle (Grant) Mazzuca. They had one daughter, Meagan (Mazzuca) Castle, wife to Jeff Castle (surviving) along with his grandchildren Alayna and Dylan Castle.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sister Karen Mazzuca and brother Quinn Mazzuca. Kevin’s dogs Bella, Candy and Molly are greeting him in heaven and Daisy survives.
Kevin was a man of many hobbies, a fan of the Blackhawks and Cubs, a classic movie and rock enthusiast, gardener, bicyclist, and Airplane spotter. Kevin supported his community by volunteering with Milton Township C.E.R.T., Wheaton Police Citizens Academy, and worked as a crossing guard. Kevin was also known for “Kev’s car wash” in the summer months, and his array of flags, handed down to him by Gayle’s father that he would display on his flag poles at home.
Kevin started his career in 1969 at Turnstyle which is where he met Gayle in 1972. He advanced from clerk to corporate trainer over the course of his career. He and Gayle moved to Wheaton in 1979 and Kevin finally retired from Jewel Osco (Albertsons) in 2013 after 34 years of employment.
Kevin was a caring person and loving family man who wore his heart on his shoulder. He was always there to offer a hand or advice to anyone in need. Kevin will be missed by many but all of the wonderful memories of him will be enjoyed for a lifetime by anyone who knew him.
Visitation Thursday February 8, 2024. 3:00pm until 8:00pm at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home 430 E. Roosevelt rd. Wheaton IL 60187. Funeral service Friday February 9, 2024 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Michaels Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
