2026 January 26th: Tom Endicott

James Thomas Endicott passed away surrounded by the love of his family on January 26th, 2026 at home in Chandler, Arizona.
Tom was born and raised in his beloved hometown of Carmi, Illinois. The son of Dick and Ruth Endicott and the younger sibling of his brother, John. Tom enjoyed playing basketball among other sports as a youth. He met his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Shelia, and they married September 13th, 1975. He attended Murray State University and received his Bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University before embarking on a career in retail business. After he retired he continued working and was currently working with children and adults with special needs.
Tom and Shelia raised their sons, Ben and Daniel, as his career took them from Texas to Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Utah, and Arizona. Tom and Shelia also helped raise their niece, Sarah. He loved Arizona and spent time swimming in his pool and watching his favorite teams. He later became an avid thespian, acting in many plays across the Phoenix metro where he made many friends. Tom was also very active in his church, Sun Valley Tempe, where he loved being a greeter and volunteering. Tom further illuminated his community as a substitute teacher at the Chandler Learning Center.
Tom was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Tom was very kind and never met a stranger. He had a warm sense of humor and always made everyone laugh. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Ruth Endicott and his Sister in Law Fran. Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Shelia, as well as sons Ben (Katie) and Daniel; niece, Sarah James brother, John Endicott(Elaine), stepmother Sue Endicott, three grandchildren, Connor, Evelyn and Charlotte.
A memorial service will be held at the Tempe Sun Valley Community Church chapel at 10am on Monday February 16.
