Joseph Anthony Buron, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026. He was born on December 6, 1936, in Galveston, Texas, and was raised in Chicago, Illinois, by his loving parents, Edward Francis Buron and Dorothy Chudobba Buron, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Buron.

Joe shared a remarkable 68-year marriage with the love of his life, Eleanor Plezbert Buron. Together, they built a strong and loving family, creating a legacy that spans generations. Joe dedicated 38 years of service to Jewel Food Stores and Osco Drug, retiring as a District Manager.

Above all else, Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor; his five children, Joseph A. Buron (Karen), Timothy C. Buron (Tami), Thomas M. Buron (Suzette), Tamera (Charles), and Peggy. He is also survived by many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his memory and the values he instilled.

Joe will be remembered for his dedication to family, strong work ethic, kindness, and unwavering love for those closest to him. His presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Joe was my District Manager in Chicago District 3. He was tough but fair, and as a new GM, I valued his leadership.
