Anthony Accardi

Anthony Accardi… Like everyone else, 2020 took a toll on us. I was laid off from Donnelley Financial Solutions (formerly RR Donnelley) after 20 years and 25 years in the financial printing business. I am now working as a custodian for The Billerica Public Schools. My oldest son Joe is entering his sophomore year at Merrimack College and my youngest son Salvatore will be entering his senior year at Wilmington High School. My wife Maria and I have been married for 21 years. 2021 has definitely been better than last year and we are starting to see the light at end of the tunnel. We have been in Wilmington Mass for 21 years. For fun we pick a new spot to vacation each year. Mostly York Beach in Maine wins the pick. We like to go out to dinner as a family and every Friday night is family fun night where the boys pick a place where we get take out. Our trip to Disney / Universal Studios in Florida in 2016 was definitely our best vacation. The many wonderful people I got to work with are my fondest memories. Being the receiver in the old Cambridge store....no loading dock.......no receiving door and a tiny basement. Unloading trucks one piece at the time on rollers was definitely a challenge. Working for Bob Cook for 14 years brought me so much knowledge and experience that I still use to this day. High standards, high expectations and thorough training always bring positive results. Bob always managed to find a store with a small back room to place me in...........some had basements (#959 Somerville, #957 Cambridge) and some had an upstairs backroom (#968 Waltham and #974 Revere). The crews in the stores made the physical constraints of the store seamless.
