I joined Osco as an in-house temporary employee at 1818 Oak Brook, IL in October, 1975. I worked with Tom Nielsen on the newspaper and did 'attitude surveys' for Turn*Style, Republic Lumber and Osco. I was asked to go full time in December 1975, joining the Human Resources (then called Personnel) team for the Western Region. Later I joined the Merchandising team, where I worked with Bob Dose and Ted Dost in the early stages of the Liquor Department. It was exciting spending twenty-five years of service as an integral part of the Liquor Department watching and helping it grow to a Liquor/Beer/Wine/Soda/Tobacco Department. I was responsible for proofing of advertising ads and products for Chicago, Central and Indiana markets.
