Stan Slyter Retires From Albertsons

I retired on September 11th, 2021, after working for the full family of banners and positions across the company. Stan began his career while attending High School at his local Skaggs Drug Store in Omaha Nebraska May 1978. After working through the many stores, moves, and states (big hello to Nebraska, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, Tennessee, and Mississippi) along the way; not to mention the mergers and acquisitions. Stan found himself leaving the operations side in 1997 and transitioning to a Merchandising Managing role in New Hampshire and the Eastern region. Once behind the scenes Stan moved again and managed many different departments (Grocery, CSD, Meat Deli, Alcohol, and General Merchandise) and divisions (big hello to Utah, Arizona, Florida, and Texas) before accepting a Vice President role overseeing the Retail support of the western United States during the latest acquisition of the Safeway stores. Stan has mentored many people along the way, worked with and for countless others, and was supported by some of the best grocers and merchants every step of the way. Special thanks to: Dick Kidd, Jake Jackson, Joe Wagner, Mike Massimo, and Larry Hansen! After a fun and action-packed career Stan is enjoying his retirement in beautiful Boise, Idaho. Quote: All of the success I have had would not have been possible without the support staff and counterparts that helped me along the way and I thank you!

*footnote: Stan is making cutting boards, stove covers and Charcuterie servers in his retirement. He calls them Slyboards.
