After retiring in 1999, Patti and I decided to stay in Utah, as we thoroughly enjoyed all the activities Utah has to offer. We have enjoyed hiking in the nearby forests and mountains, biking, traveling to the beautiful national parks, many days spent fishing, and golfing on many beautiful courses. For the last twenty plus years, we have spent two months during the winter in Arizona, where we have been able to continue doing the activities we enjoy with the added benefit of escaping the inversion which can affect air quality in Utah.
In 2020, I was diagnosed with Parkinsons, which has resulted in no longer being able to participate in many of those activities I have enjoyed over the years. Parkinsons also has curtailed my ability to travel, however we have great memories of the places we have explored, such as New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, Costa Rica, and of course many places here in the U.S. Fortunately, I am still able to play 18 holes of golf!
I feel fortunate to have worked for a company that valued personal growth along with company goals. I had the good fortune of working with many highly skilled people, with the added benefit of establishing several long term personal friendships that continue to this day. There was never a day that I regretted having to go to work!
