We are doing fine, my wife Becky and I are happy, healthy, and loving life. We have two adult children; a daughter Alison and her husband Sam. Our son Connor is engaged to be married this coming September. We are lucky to have them living here in Boise with us! So wonderful! Both are within a 20-minute drive from our house. I’m still working, but on a very reduced schedule. I doubt I’ll ever completely retire, as long as I have value to add. I’m still traveling the country delivering leadership development workshop, my passion for more than 35+ years. I have also just authored my first book, “How to Transition into Leadership” available on Amazon.
We are living in Boise, ID. We came out to Boise with the merger between American Stores and Albertsons in 2001. We absolutely love life in the mountain west!
For fun we enjoy traveling, gardening, skiing, being outdoors, walks, and I still enjoy writing.
Oh gosh, our best vacations are mostly to see family. I have five siblings who live all over the country. However, we did go to Europe last year and really enjoyed that. This year, I’m planning to go to Europe with a couple of buddies to take the “Band of Brothers” WWII tour. Looking forward to that.
I started my Jewel-Osco career as a catalog photographer as the Jewel Home Shopping Service in Barrington in 1978. That was fun as well. Since the Home Shopping Service was a sales organization, I was able to help plan and execute award trips to many fun locations including Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and Mexico. After that, it is all about the people, the friends, colleagues, and life-long relationships. More directly, I enjoyed being the editor of the Jewel-Osco Flashes for seven years. I, along with John McTigue, were also responsible for our “long-service” award banquets for many years is also a great memory for me. Again, all about the people.
