Greetings, All, from the Alaskan Tundra, aka Valparaiso, IN where wind chills are -30 and air temps are single digits. And, then there is the snow. ❄️❄️
Since 2022, I have been enjoying life in the Midwest thanks to COVID upending business models. Yes. Even ultra-conservative CVS broke down
and allows fully remote work and is currently hybrid for those close to the main office. Fortunately, my VP at the time granted me permission to go full remote.
The move itself was a nail biter. 😬 Not only did I miss all those nice relocation packages, the housing market was hot! Helped me sell, but the buying
side was moving so fast simple good-faith down payments did not guarantee your home - especially if a new build as I did. Between the timeline of
waiting on the build and using my 401K as collateral to avoid a contingency, it was a tough 4 months. Meanwhile, Russia invaded Ukraine that spring,
and I was very concerned my buyers would back out. All, obviously, turned out okay.
So now I am the servant to two cats, Mikki and Molly.

My commute to work is about 20 feet, and I get to spend more time with family without having to hop a plane
and plan PTO. I put in an inground pool which I missed greatly from my Arizona days and spend a good chunk of time enjoying my backyard oasis. The neighborhood
I moved into has the best neighbors. I am on the HOA board and help plan our annual block party every year. Last year for Halloween, over 200 kids showed up.
The weather was decent and many of us just sat in our driveways with firepits (mine was a table top) to pass out treats and watch the kids, adults and pets in costume.
So many great memories from the Osco/Sav-on days. Nothing since has demonstrated the supportive culture of Osco/Sav-on along with the fun and camaraderie of the
various teams. We worked hard but had fun along the way. One memory that stands out is the time I had the honor and privilege of flying on the corporate jet. Large
meetings were scheduled for the Midwest and West Coast areas. I was presenting a new way of pricing and was updating the Field on what to expect. The most
memorable part was the marathon Euchre games while in flight. Dave Addington and I smoked Chris Dimos and Mike Cihlar each flight, even that last "this one for
all the marbles hand' as we were making our final approach into Scottsdale. I have not played Euchre since. Remind me again, Chris, what is the Left Bower and Right Bower?😉
This summer I am looking forward to an Alaskan Cruise with John Nieman and friends from New England. Alaska is one state I have not visited, yet, and this will be my
first cruise. 🛳️ It will be epic. Our offshore excursions include a train, a plane, and another boat cruise to view the glaciers. Fingers crossed for the best weather.
Hope everyone is enjoying life, too. I love all the pics and updates on Facebook and the Alumni Club from those that have touched my life and career.
