Where Are They Now: Karen Ramos

I have lived in Fountain Hills, Arizona for 23 years. I was transferred here in 2002 for my job in Public Affairs with Albertsons and finished my career working for CVS Health after they purchased the Osco and Sav-on stores in 2006. 

I love to travel; Ron and I traveled a lot until his health failed.  After Ron passed in 2018, I started traveling again in 2021.  I also enjoy spending time with friends and family.  I travel back to Chicago a few times every summer.  I’ve also been fortunate to travel to Italy, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, Israel, France, England, Australia and New Zealand.  I’m going to Japan in April and looking forward to a month in Italy in a small hill town in Calabria. 

My best vacation was a trip to Egypt, that Ron and I took in 1999.  It was amazing to see the pyramids and the Sphinx and realize they are thousands of years old. 

My fondest memories of Osco/Sav-on have been the people I worked with.  It was a great experience and I still count them as friends.  I learned so much about leadership from those I worked with and still use those skills today.
